This article is about a girl, Eve Carson, who was found shot to death early Wednesday morning. She was a 22 year old student and class president at UNC Chapel Hill. The police are currently working to find the killer and they already have one suspect. This article hits me hard because, unfortunately, it is not common for something like this to take place in this day and age. When something like this happens, it is so sad because you think about all the torture and pain the person could have gone through and now all the emotions the family is feeling. I feel sorry for all of her family and friends and I hope they can get through this traumatic event OK.

This article intrigued me because I enjoy reading about and following politics. I am glad that Huckabee isn't giving up even though he is 800 delegates behind. I'm glad because even though I do not want him to win, he claims he is staying in the election to reach out to the younger voters and educate them. I think this is a good decision because the younger republicans are the future for the party and if you are not educating them then you will not have a republican party soon. I think that McCain has a better shot at winning than Huckabee but Huckabee should not give up.

I was not happy when I found out we were reading Shakespeare because I hate Shakespeare. I think it is a pointless to waste your time trying to interpret early modern English. I do not care for Shakespeare or books written in early modern English.

This article about Britney Spears really saddens me because I really think she has so much potential to go so far in life. She is an incredible singer and she has so much going for her. But, being a young star and growing up under all the stress of Hollywood, she, like most young stars, wind up having problems as they get older. Spears was a pop sensation a few years back and she played a lead role on the show "The Mickey Mouse Club," when she was little. Growing up, having so much power and influence over so many people, really takes a toll on people. Now instead of Britney using all of her power to become something sensational, she is using it to nearly kill herself. I really think the situation is sad and I'm sorry it happens to so many young, famous people today.

This song talks about a teenage girl going to summer camp and she and her camp friends are drinking. She meets a boy and they do stuff that she regrets. I think this speaks for a lot of girls today because they do a lot of crazy things they don't mean to when they are with a boy they really like. This is like the book we read, House on Mango Street, because Esperanza finds a boy that says he likes her and she does stuff with him and he then took advantage of her. This is sad because it happens a lot these days.
